DOTP (Di-iso-octyl terephthalate) is a high-performance plasticizer.
It features excellent properties, including heat resistance, oil resistance, weather resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance.

DOTP is synthesized via the esterification of p-xylene and iso-octyl alcohol, whereas DOP is produced from phthalic anhydride and iso-octyl alcohol. DOTP and DOP are structural isomers. Due to structural differences, the plasticizing efficiency of DOTP is slightly lower than that of DOP. However, it excels in other physical and mechanical properties. Notably, its volume resistivity is dozens of times higher than DOP, endowing DOTP with a broader range of applications. Currently, Di-iso-octyl terephthalate (DOTP) is considered the best alternative to DOP.
